Content Submission Guidelines

These guidelines set out the technical and operational requirements for submitting releases through the CREWPORT platform. By submitting a release, you confirm that your content meets all requirements below and that your representations and warranties under your Music Distribution Agreement remain accurate.

Content rules — what you may and may not distribute, prohibited content, AI content requirements, streaming conduct, and enforcement — are set out in the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). These guidelines cover technical specifications and operational procedures only.

ContentMust match release title and artist name. Must not contain contact information, pricing, QR codes, call-to-action text, or third-party logos without authorization. No explicit sexual content. See AUP Section 6 for artwork conduct rules.

4. Release-Level Metadata

Release titleMust accurately reflect the content. No keyword stuffing, clickbait, or misleading titles.
Artist nameMust be your registered performing name. Must not impersonate another artist.
Label nameYour label name as registered in your CREWPORT account.
Release dateMust be accurate. Future-dated releases must be submitted with sufficient lead time (see Section 7).
GenreMust accurately reflect the primary genre. Deliberate miscategorization is a policy violation.
Explicit contentMust be labeled Explicit where content contains explicit lyrics, themes, or references. Failure to label is a policy violation.
UPCAssigned by CREWPORT or provided by you. Must be unique and not previously used for a different release.

5. Track-Level Metadata

LanguagePrimary language of lyrics must be identified.
Cover songMust be identified as a cover. Original artist and songwriter must be credited.
AI content disclosureRequired where content includes AI-generated materials. See AUP Section 4 for AI content rules.

Metadata must be submitted in Roman characters (Latin alphabet) where required by DSPs. Transliterations should follow standard conventions.

6. Splits and Collaborator Payments

Allocation of royalties among collaborators, producers, co-writers, and other contributors is your responsibility. Unless a separate Split Payment Addendum has been executed with CREWPORT, CREWPORT will pay the full Client Share to the account holder. CREWPORT does not administer, calculate, or pay third-party contributor shares without a signed Split Payment Addendum.

These are minimum lead times from submission to release date. Earlier submission is strongly recommended. CREWPORT cannot guarantee delivery within minimum lead times if a submission requires correction, additional documentation, or compliance review.

9. DSP-Specific Requirements

Each DSP has its own technical and content requirements, which may change without notice. By submitting a release, you authorize CREWPORT to make minor formatting, encoding, or metadata adjustments necessary to meet DSP-specific delivery specifications. CREWPORT will not make substantive changes to your content without consent. CREWPORT cannot guarantee acceptance of releases by all DSPs; individual DSP decisions are outside CREWPORT's control.

10. Updates

CREWPORT may update these guidelines at any time to reflect changes in DSP requirements, applicable law, or platform policy. Material updates will be communicated through the Platform or email. Continued use of CREWPORT's distribution services after updated guidelines take effect constitutes acceptance.
